The 2026 U.S. Midterms are facing a cyber threat, with a surge in disinformation and phishing attacks reported, according to Check Point Blog. This issue is separate from traditional ballot box security concerns.

Andrej Acevski's open source project management tool, Kaneo, was used to send 14,520 phishing invitations to strangers over a three-hour period on May 28th.
